The webinar will begin with brief presentations and a panel discussion for the first 60mins, to be followed by a further 30mins of audience Q&A – with an opportunity to put your questions direct to our speakers.
Speakers:
Steffi Uhlemann-Elmer, Director of Flood Model Product Management at RMS – a hydrologist by background who will speak about the climatic conditions associated with the event and the scientific evidence for whether climate change may have played in driving the event.
Sokya Tamara, Head of Cat Perils EMEA at Swiss Re – will talk about how the unique characteristics of claims from the event and the extent to which catastrophe models may capture these effects.
Oliver Hauner, Head of Property Insurance, Engineering, Loss Prevention and Statistics at the German Insurance Association (GDV) – how the event is likely to trigger a re-assessment of mitigation measures, so flood defences and the role for both private and public insurance schemes.
Tim Edwards, Head of EMEA Catastrophe Analytics at TigerRisk – will talk about how insurers and reinsurance practioners are likely to calibrate their views of risk, post the event.
