About the Event
Event Overview:
ISCM Master Class, Monday, February 23rd in Orlando, FL.
Attendees can register for one of four classes presented by leading experts in their fields, providing an opportunity to dive deeper into topics critical to catastrophe risk management. Build skills critical for CCRMP subject matter experts and leave with critical skills & materials that can be applied to the questions and challenges your organization faces.
This session discusses understanding and confidence in 'best practice' model usage.
Description of Session:
Catastrophe models originated to help insurers understand extreme loss potential at the enterprise level. Growing acceptance of catastrophe and business pressures requiring risk assessment at lower levels of the business (capital allocation to lines of business and/or defined geographies) alter the usage of the models and this usage must be maintained and understood at the corporate level. This session will identify model characteristics that could influence confidence in projected loss curves.
