Evolving Cat Management of Geopolitical Risks

Although numerous insurance classes are exposed to losses from geopolitical risks, historically their management has received less focus from the catastrophe modelling community than Nat-Cat risks. Now, more than two years on from the escalation of the war in Ukraine, with the ongoing Israel Gaza war and multiple hotspots of increasing tension globally, better risk selection and accumulation management has moved up the agenda. Lloyd’s has also increased their scrutiny of this important topic.

Join MS Amlin, the International Society of Catastrophe Managers and a line-up of esteemed experts on geopolitical risk and insurance for an in-person event on the beautiful 42nd floor of The Leadenhall Building.

ISCM sponsored Lloyds Tour

ISCM sponsors a guided tour at the Lloyds London market building. The tour has a duration of one hour, we will have two guides on site sufficient for a group of 20 participants. Visitors will need to show original photo identification to collect their pass, e.g. a driving license or passport. Reception cannot accept photos or paper copies of identification. Security passes will be available for collection at the Events desk on the left-hand side of the Lloyd’s Main Reception on Lower Ground. visitors must arrive 10 minutes prior to the booking time (14:05) to allow the collection of passes and a punctual tour starting time. Backpacks or luggage are not permitted on a Lloyd's tour and items must be left within the dedicated Cloakroom located on Upper Basement. Valuable items may be retrieved and carried by the visitors.

The two expert guides who are retired market professionals will also provide information about the history of the Lloyds market. We hope that seeing the physical space where all broking activity takes place and learning about the founding history of the Lloyds market can add perspective, be inspirational and motivate people entering the industry. The event is thus planned to be particularly attractive for young professionals in the City just starting their careers in the (re)insurance industry and specifically Cat Modelling.
