About the Event

This second session will cover peril specific issues for inland flood and hurricane:

  • For what purpose would normalized losses for these perils be used?
  • What are the specific challenges when comparing event losses for these perils over time?
  • Which components of hazard/exposure/vulnerability require uplifting?
  • What datasets were used to undertake this uplifting?
  • What trends were you able to observe?

  • What are the common pitfalls/mistakes for loss indexation / on-levelling?
  • Where ambiguity exists how best to articulate uncertainty?
