Senior Vice President, Guy Carpenter
Brian is a Senior Vice President and Product Manager for Guy Carpenter, focusing on developing analytics, insights and solutions to address and help clients manage catastrophe risk. In this cross-functional role, Brian works closely with clients, brokers and analysts to develop and deploy solutions that solve complex catastrophe risk related problems.
Prior to Guy Carpenter, Brian worked for JLT Re where he served by educating the JLT Re client base on catastrophe model usage and output, and developing/deploying their exposure and data analytics platform; CATography®. In addition, he consulted with clients in regards to specific catastrophe related studies and exposure management projects.
Before working in the reinsurance analytics space, Brian worked as a Product Engineer, leading the product development initiatives for new geospatial solutions at Vencore, Inc., a contractor in the U.S. Intelligence community supporting many three-letter agencies in defense. His career began, however, as a Weather Risk Management Analyst at global weather data and forecast service provider AccuWeather, Inc.
Brian holds a B.S. in Meteorology and M.Eng. degree in Systems Engineering, both from The Pennsylvania State University. Brian also has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) industry designations. He is also the Founder and President of the Penn State Weather Risk Alumni Society, a committee member of the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM) and an active volunteer climate and weather educator for the non-profit, Nepris.
