Monica Mason is an active member of the ISCM, and is on the planning committee for the RAA Cat Management conference. She recently served on the Division Committee of the Gulf Research Program at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine and the Citizen Advisory Group for the HUD-funded Hudson Rebuild by Design project in Hoboken, NJ.

Monica is Head of Property Analytics at Core Specialty, with a goal to leverage data to improve risk selection, underwriting, portfolio management, operations, and claims. She was most recently Senior Vice President and Global Head of Catastrophe Risk Analytics at TransRe where she guided the overall use of catastrophe models and associated analytics, portfolio management of catastrophe risk, and developing the TransRe view of risk through model and peril research. Monica has been active in catastrophe modeling and management for over 20 years, with roles at the Lloyd’s syndicate Talbot, Validus Reinsurance, Willis Re, and RMS. Prior to catastrophe modeling, she worked at Deloitte Consulting.

Ms. Mason is a graduate of Macalester College with a degree in Mathematics and Economics. She has completed her ARe, CEEM and CCRMP designations. In her free time, Monica enjoys cooking, baking and teaching her new dog old tricks.
